Who we are

We are an official branch of the Scottish National Party, a political party registered with the Electoral Commission.
Our website address is: https://www.londonsnp.scot

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

The only personal data we collect is that provided by you if you choose to contact us via our contact form, or via our email address. We collect this data so we can respond to any message you choose to send us.

IP address

We collect the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

Contact forms

We will retain data you provide (name, email address, message content) via our contact form for up to a year, or other reasonable period of time to enable us to communicate with you.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files that a website may put on your computer or mobile device when you first visit a website and are widely used to remember small amounts of information and give you a better experience using the website.

Certain cookies (e.g. Google Analytics) contain a limited amount of personal information. Most cookies will not collect information that personally identifies you, but collect more general information to help us analyse how well our website is performing overall so we can improve it.

The London SNP only uses session or temporary cookies: that is, those that are deleted once users close their browsers and automatically expire after 20 minutes of inactivity or logging out of the system.
You can adjust the use of cookies through your browser (see here for more information: www.aboutcookies.org); however, disabling them may limit the use of some functions on our websites.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites or social media platforms behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics for the purposes to monitor, develop and improve our services. You can opt-out not to be tracked by Google Analytics, by accessing the “Privacy & Cookies Policy" at the bottom of every page.

Who we share your data with

With the exception of analytical data as described above, we do not share personal data with any third party.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Your contact information

We will only use your personal contact details to reply to any message you send us via our contact form or via our email address. We do not further process, sell, or otherwise use your personal contact details. We may keep hold of your email for up to a year or other reasonable period of time so as to allow us to engage with you. You can request us to delete any and all data we hold about you at any time.
